Earlier today, Sony had a press conference of their own to show off their latest devices. What we saw was the Sony Xperia U and the Xperia P, both of which join the Xperia S in the Xperia line of devices (did I mention they’re all named Xperia?). Keep going past the break to get a preview of both devices.
Sony Xperia P
Enclosing the Xperia P is an aluminum uni body design, with a 4 inch “Reality Display” on the front. It’s internals include a dual-core 1 GHz processor, 16GB of storage, and an NFC chip for NFC apps like Google Wallet, and NFC tags like inside payment systems. Sony is using WhiteMagic technology in the device’s display which they claim provides and ultra bright experience and battery saving capabilities. The 8MP is on the back and allows for 2D and 3D panoramic photos, something we haven’t really seen yet. It’ll be launching with Android 2.3, but will be upgrade-able to 4.0 in Q2 of this year.
Sony Xperia U
The Xperia U’s main attaction is the surround sound audio that Sony has built in using xLoud and Sony 3D technologies and the ability to stream music to wireless speakers. In addition, the U has a 3.5 inch Reality Display, a 1 GHz dual-core processor, and a 5 megapixel camera which also takes 2D and 3D panoramic photos. The U will also come with Android 2.3, but will be upgrade-able to 4.0 in Q2 as well.
