New iPad get’s AppleCare+ treatment, iPad 2 price drops

Announced alongside the updated iPad was AppleCare+. AppleCare+ was originally released when the 4S was released, but is now available for the third generation iPad. Although every iPad comes with one year of complimentary coverage by AppleCare, the plus version adds two extra years, thus, giving you 3 years of warranty coverage and 2 incidents of accidental damage when purchased 30 days or less after the date of your iPad purchase.

In addition to AppleCare+ for iPad, the iPad 2 also saw a price drop, with the 16GB WiFi model being lowered to $399.99 and the 16GB WiFi + 3G version was dropped to $529.99. As far as the new iPad’s pricing goes…

The new iPad Wi-Fi models will be available in black or white on Friday, March 16 for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model and $699 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad Wi-Fi + 4G for either AT&T or Verizon will be available for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model.
