During Apple’s conference call this morning, Tim Cook mentioned how Apple was thrilled about their record weekend regarding the new iPad, but didn’t go any farther than that. It’s only been a few hours since then and AT&T, in a very brief press release, has already announced that the new iPad set a new single-day record for the sales and activations of the device.
On Friday, March 16, AT&T set a new single-day record for its iPad sales and activations, demonstrating robust demand for the new iPad on the nation’s largest 4G network, covering nearly 250 million people.
AT&T stopped short of releasing actual sales figures in their press release as Apple did in their conference. Apple is expected to release complete sales figures sometime next month during their Q2 conference call.
