A new report has emerged today from 9to5Mac Appl’es next iPhone is current in testing and will feature a “3.999 inch” display.
According to 9to5Mac, two prototype iPhones are floating around the Apple Campus in Cupertino; one being codenamed N41AP (5,1) and one named N42AP (5,2). Both are said to be in the “PreEVT stage of development”, although it’s not known which will be released in the end. Both sport 3.999 inch displays (aka 4 inches) with resolutions of 640 x 1136 to retain the Retina Display moniker.
Apple is also said to be testing tweaked versions of iOS to accommodate the larger screen size, for example, with an extra row on the home screen. 9to5Mac is a reputable source, so it is expected that most of these rumors are true, although it’s not guaranteed.
It is widely rumored that the next iPhone will feature a larger display, as well as a tweaked display, processor, and camera with an enhanced Maps system in iOS 6. A modified dock connector is also said to be included.
