As expected, Samsung has made the Galaxy SIII mini official today at an event in Germany. The device includes a dual-core 1 GHz processor, a 4-inch display, a 5 megapixel camera, NFC, and Android 4.1. The SIII mini has already been under fire as it appears Samsung is attempting to capitalize Galaxy SIII’s massive success. It’s been called “underwhelming” and and described as undeserving of the Galaxy SIII name because of it’s mediocre spec list. It appears to be a repackaged original Galaxy S with a better processor and Android 4.1.
Either way, the device should be a fairly decent offering for those looking to get a taste of the experience of a Galaxy SIII but at a lower price point and in a smaller package. Samsung has not given any information regarding availability or pricing as of yet.
