AllThingsD is now reporting that the iPad mini event will be held on October 23rd, rather than October 17th as originally rumored. Invites for the supposed October 17th event would have gone out this past Wednesday, but the 10th came and went without said invites. AllThingsD has proven to be reliable in the past as they reported on the iPhone 4S event date a week prior to the event invites being sent out and also independently confirmed the iPhone 5 event date rumor for September 12th. The site also reported back in August that Apple was planning to hold an iPad mini event this month.
In addition to AllThingsD reporting that the event will be held on the 23rd, The Next Web has also suggested, according to their sources, that said event will focus on iBooks.
In what will likely be completely unsurprising news to many, we’ve now heard from multiple sources that Apple’s as-yet-unannounced iPad mini event will have a strong focus on iBooks. Since an iPad mini would likely be squarely aimed at those who wish to partake of media on their tablets, that would make a lot of sense.
The iPad mini is expected to be unveiled with a 7.85 inch display, a razor thin casing, the new Lightning port, and an A5 processor.
