Android 4.1.2 leaks for Galaxy SII

Posted by: Brett

Thanks to SamMobile and xda user izap, an official test version of Android 4.1.2 has leaked for the international Samsung Galaxy SII. The build, I9100XXLSJ, is said to be near perfect so it’s possible the update could be rolled out soon. What’s interesting about Android 4.1.2 for the SII is that it is just about identical to the software on the Galaxy SIII. It has the new TouchWiz Nature UX overlay and therefore works and looks identical to the SIII.

Some of the Enhancements in the new Jelly Bean Update:

  • Buttery Smooth Performance & Great Stability (Thanks to Project Butter)
  • New TouchWiz Nature UX (Same UI as of the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II)
  • Samsung’s Cloud services
  • Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play Features
  • New Widgets From the Galaxy S III
  • 2 Home screen modes
  • New Notifications bar
  • Google Now

It’s good to see that Samsung is still interested in supporting the year old Galaxy SII meaning it’s likely they’ll support their more powerful devices, like the Note 2 and Galaxy SIII, for a long time as well. SamMobile has a bunch of screenshots and a video on their site of the leaked build. You can find the site and the link to XDA to download the build at the source links.
