‘iPhone 5S’ rumored to launch in mid-2013 with NFC, ‘super HD’ display

Jefferies analyst Peter Misek released predictions today in a research note that Apple will release an ‘iPhone 5S’ in June or July of 2013. He says the device will launch with a “super HD” display, NFC capabilities, a better camera, a bigger battery, a 128GB model, and will come in multiple color variants like the fifth-generation iPod touch.

This is not the first time we’ve heard that Apple might, once again, stray off their   release schedule as some reports have even suggested a launch in the Spring of next year. Peter Misek also says the there are currently prototypes of an ‘iPhone 6’ that have been deployed for testing, although if Apple does release an “S” upgrade to the iPhone 5, it’s likely these prototypes are in the very early testing stages.

Misek also says he believes Apple will release a fifth-generation iPad around the same time as the ‘iPhone 5S’ which he believes will be lighter and thinner than the current generation thanks to a the use of a new display panel. The iPad mini is also expected to be upgraded with a Retina display, which would not be surprising, and multiple colors.

Finally, Misek believes Apple will release their oft-rumored television set in September or October of next year. Misek has had a mixed track record as of late and nothing he has said is confirmed until announced by Apple.
