Huawei took the wraps off the Ascend Mate today which is now the largest smartphone in the world. The Ascend Mate has an unnecessarily large 6.1-inch 720p IPS+ display with a pixel density of 241 ppi, Huawei’s custom quad-core 1.5 GHz K3V2 processor, a a 4050 mAh battery, an 8 megapixel camera, and Android 4.1. The device features a technology called “Magic Touch” which enables you to use the device with gloves on. The Ascend Mate seems like a high quality device, but I’m skeptical as to how many people will actually go for a device this large, especially over something like the Galaxy Note.
The Ascend Mate will be launching next month in China and it will roll out in March in other countries.
