ZTE announced the Grand S today at CES 2013, continuing the trend of 5-inch 1080p smartphones. The specs of the Grand S include a 5-ibch 1080p HD display, a quad-core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera, and a micro SD card slot, all stuffed into a razor thin 6.9mm casing, making it the world’s thinnest 1080p smartphone. ZTE was forced to sacrifice battery for thinness, and put in a measly 1780 mAh battery.
It will be interesting to see how it stacks up (or doesn’t stack up) to other larger batteries in devices with displays that are 5 inches and up, such as the Xperia Z and Droid DNA.The ZTE Grand S will be available in China in Q1 of this year.
