Samsung introduced the new Exynos 5 Octa mobile processor today at their day two keynote at CES 2013. The processor is the first two use the ARM big.LITTLE processing technology. It is an octa-core CPU, so it has a whopping eight processing cores – four Cortex-A15 cores for processing-intense tasks and four Cortex-A7 cores for smaller, common tasks. Samsung says the chip offers 70 percent higher power efficiency than the previous quad-core Exynos processor. The Exynos 5 Octa will offer faster performance the Exynos 5 Dual in the Nexus 10 and twice the 3D gaming performance of any mobile processor on the market today.
