According to ifoAppleStore, Apple’s Retail Vice President, Jerry McDougal, has resigned from Apple for reasons unrelated to his job at the company. Apple worked closely with former retail head Ron Johnson to launch the company’s retail store strategy and he’ll be replaced by Jim Bean, former Apple VP of Finance, who is said to retain his “VP of Finance” title. This news comes about three months after Apple announced John Browett, the SVP of Retail, would be leaving the company and he has still yet to be replaced.
AllThingsD received the following statement from an Apple spokesperson:
“Retail has an incredibly strong network of leaders at the store and regional level, and they will continue the excellent work they’ve done over the past decade to revolutionize retailing with unique, innovative services and a focus on the customer that is second to none,” Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said. “Jim Bean is moving to Retail to help support our store teams. Jim has been at Apple for 15 years and is a great leader who understands our culture and focus on customer service.”
