Apple released iOS 6.1.1 to the iPhone 4S today after numerous reports of battery and cellular performance plaguing the device since the release of iOS 6.1 on January 28th. Vodafone recently started to advise users against updating to iOS 6.1 until Apple release an update to fix 3G performance. AOL was also forced to disable meeting management features on iOS devices because a bug in iOS 6.1.
iOS 6.1.1, build 10B145, is out now and Apple says it does in fact “fix an issue would could impact cellular performance and reliability for the iPhone 4S”. iOS 6.1.1 beta 1 was released last week to improve Maps for Japanese users, although Apple says it will be given a new version number with the next developer beta and will include the fixes from iOS 6.1.1 and the Map improvements for Japanese users.
iOS 6.1.1 beta will be renamed to a different version with the next developer release and will include the fixes included in the public release of iOS 6.1.1 in addition to the improvements to Maps for Japan.
