After months of leaks, HTC announced the HTC One today, their latest flagship phone. The One has the latest innards; Qualcomm’s brand new 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, a 4.7-inch 1080p HD display, 2GB of RAM, a 4MP ‘UltraPixel’ camera, Android 4.1.2, and Sense 5.
The One also features a “zero-gap”, full aluminum frame and diamond chamfered edges. It has an all new audio experience with dual front speakers (at the top and bottom) and an all-new camera experience with what HTC is dubbing an “UltraPixel” camera. The camera is accompanied by a feature called HTC Zoe which allows you to take high-res pictures which turn into a short, 3 second film.
The dual-front speakers are part of a feature called HTC BoomSound. The speakers include a dedicated amplifier which offers enhanced audio. Finally, there’s HTC BlinkFeed which is a Flipboard like home screen page which aggregates social content, as well as news and photos.
HTC says the One will be available beginning in March on over 185 carriers globally, including AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the States (no Verizon) for $199 for the 32GB model and $299 for the 64GB model. The One will launch in both black and white.
