BlackBerry Z10 receives it’s first software update

Posted by: Brett

BlackBerry has begun rolling out the first OTA update to the BlackBerry Z10 today, and it brings some welcomes fixes and changes. First improvement in the 150MB update is improved third-party app performance. All current and future apps should work much more smoothly and fast now, and BlackBerry says WhatsApp will be launching this month alongside some other popular apps.

The update also improves the Phone, Calendar, and Contacts. There are fixes for Gmail, BlackBerry Hub improvements for how conversations and call logs are handled, and importing contacts from online. You should see a boost in camera performance in low-light situations, a better video playback experience in the browser, and over 60 battery life improvements which should especially benefit heavy users greatly.

You can update your BlackBerry Z10 by going to Settings, click Software Updates, and then choose Check for Updates.
